[Kabuki actor Nakamura Sikan's second infidelity case]

News on January 6th in 2021 reported that Nakamura Sikan, a kabuki actor, had the second incident of infidelity. Kabuki is a Japanese traditional play that was designated as an intangible cultural asset of Japan in 1965 and a world wide intangible cultural heritage in 2008. His first infidelity case with a geisha in Kyoto was reported in September 2016, but his wife Mita Hiroko apologized to the public in a press conference saying, “Both of us are deeply reflecting on the incident.” When asked about the prospect of a divorce, she answered they were not considering a divorce. Then, when Nakamura's second infidelity case was reported, his wife still denied on the possibility of a divorce. She was reported to think that she must do her best to serve the role of the wife and the daughter in law for inheritance of family business.

Many people try to view and interpret infidelity cases as a couple problem regarding sex, love, and emotions of individuals. This kind of approach to and perception of infidelity distorts its true nature, and leads to misunderstanding the root cause of infidelity, which, to some extent, results from the conventional approaches of psychology and sociology.

Korea Institute of Psycho-education has discovered after developing the Theory of Mimind and Xesmind that the cause of infidelity is relationship addiction, which is a type of severe psychological disorders. This new way of looking at the phenomenon of infidelity allows us to more adequately analyze the phenomenon of infidelity and explain why people in infidelity think and act the way they do, and why infidelity is wrongly associated with problems of couples, sex, love, and emotions of individuals. It is crucial to analyze infidelity cases based on the premise that the cause of husband infidelity is relationship addiction and most wives are to suffer from post traumatic stress due to spouse infidelity.

The husband in the news report has relationship addiction. He may be able to stop getting involved in infidelity for some time, but his infidelity may recur anytime. Once a person develops relationship addiction, he or she is to repeat infidelity as a form of addiction, and the wife suffers from post traumatic stress due to spouse infidelity. In public scenes, the wife, Mita Hiroko, is viewed as a wife who devotes herself to marriage and family by forgiving her husband, protecting her family, and doing her best to succeed family business. She may have transformed her pain and suffering to getting immersed into working for her family. However, the wife's post traumatic stress and the husband's relationship addiction have not been properly addressed and their conditions will worsen as time goes by no matter what they do. 

It is imperative that they recognize their conditions and treat their psychological disorders in a proper way. The husband must treat his relationship addiction and help his wife to treat her post traumatic stress. The wife must treat her post traumatic stress and help her husband to treat his relationship addiction. Then, the couple can restore psychological stability and happiness as a couple. As a happy couple, they can also form a happy family and succeed in their family business. Without treating their psychological disorders, they may have to live a life to which the concept of happiness does not even apply.

It is hoped that more people recognize the true nature and the root cause of infidelity and find a right way to happiness and prosperity for themselves and their loved ones.
